Sierra Nevada Camp Chef is an adventure hospitality and traveling chef company based in Grass Valley, CA run by partners Martin Bullo and Denay Woodman.
Martin was born in San Francisco, CA and raised in Argentina's countryside of Buenos Aires Province. He was schooled at Instituto Argentino de Gastronomia in the culinary arts before moving to Miami in 2002 where he continued exploring his passion for good food, service and hospitality. Denay was born in Sacramento, CA, and raised in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Along with pursuing education in the Arts and Dance, she worked various roles in the service industry. The two met in Miami in 2008. With an eye for beauty in the simple things, they shared a passion for good food and human connection.
After moving back to Northern California, they adventured together growing a mutual love and appreciation for the natural beauty easily accessible in California and a heart for serving folks in groups. The birth of their son Finn in 2011 was an inspiration to craft a life full of these values.
The dream of creating memorable outdoor experiences with amazing food and adventure hospitality became an enterprise: Sierra Nevada Camp Chef. They grew the business slowly and sustainably creating a cultural culinary blend, combining Martin's South American/Pampas/Spanish/Italian training with Denay's Californian Veggie Fusion experience and pleasing palates all around.
Since 2018 Sierra Nevada Camp Chef has served groups of many sizes, on- and off-grid, including weddings, reunions, retreats, dance festivals, bike trail building events, summer camp and even high mountain pilot training.
With the presence, journey and uniqueness that each group brings, it is always a genuine pleasure to nourish the best in a party with delicious nutritious homemade food, service and love.
